Rockhampton Courthouse Precinct
This is a watercolour piece on A2 Fabriano cotton paper 300gsm of Rockhampton's Courthouse precinct on the corner of Fitzroy and East Streets. It was completed in 2025.
The building at the front of the image is the old district courthouse . It was once known as the Queensland Government Savings Bank (195-16) and Commonwealth Bank (1932-1933).
The other orange-roofed building in this piece is the old magistrates courthouse which was also once the Police Court building (1934-1936).
The smaller building at the back is the former Supreme Courthouse. It now houses Rockhampton Barristers Chambers with the old Supreme Court room playing host to meetings and other special events.
The large building at the far back is the current Rockhampton Courthouse where there are three magistrates courtrooms, one district courtroom and one supreme court room. QCAT sessions and Domestic Violence applications also take place in the courtrooms in this building.
